Chemotaxonomy & Virology

Chemotaxonomy and virology are branches of science concerned with the investigation of the chemical and molecular components that make up living organisms, as well as the study of viruses. Chemical analysis helps to identify and classify organisms, while virology helps us to understand how viruses replicate, spread, and are transmitted. Chemotaxonomy is important in the understanding of the diversity of species, while virology plays a critical role in our knowledge of zoonotic diseases and the development of treatments and vaccines. By studying the chemical and viral components of living organisms, researchers can better understand the evolution of species, the immune system and human health. By better understanding these dynamics, medical professionals are able to develop drugs or vaccines to treat or prevent illness.
