Penicillamine

Penicillamine is an antimicrobial drug used to treat various medical conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and Wilson's disease. It works by breaking down the toxic substances that accumulate in the body, reducing inflammation and pain. Additionally, it has been found to interfere with the body's ability to absorb copper, effectively lowering the levels of copper in the blood. This can help to prevent or reduce the risk of complications associated with Wilson's disease. Penicillamine is also used to treat cystinuria, a condition where large amounts of the amino acid cystine are present in the urine.
