Sequence Tagged Site Analysis
Sequence Tagged Site (STS) Analysis is a method used to determine the order of genes on a chromosome by identifying conserved regions in DNA. It involves sequencing a segment of DNA and using it to find conserved regions or "tagged sites" that are shared among related species. The tagged sites can then be used to assemble an ordered sequence of the chromosomal DNA. STS Analysis is used in many areas of research and has become a powerful tool in genetic engineering and disease diagnosis, as it can be used to identify and map variations in genetic material between individuals and species.
