Classes of Antibiotics

Antibiotics are medicines used to treat bacterial infections. They work by either killing the bacteria or preventing their growth. They are classified into several major classes, depending on how they work. These classes include penicillins, cephalosporins, tetracyclines, macrolides, quinolones, and aminoglycosides. Each class has unique properties and is used to treat different types of bacterial infections. The use of antibiotics is essential to help control the spread of infectious diseases and to treat bacterial infections. They also play a vital role in protecting the public from antibiotic-resistant bacteria that can cause serious illness or even death.
