Cell Staining
Cell staining is a process used by scientists to view and better distinguish the components of a cell under a microscope. By applying dyes, protective chemicals, or fluorescent tags to a cell, different components within a cell can be highlighted and better studied. This technique is used in a wide variety of fields, including histology, pathology, and cellular biology, to investigate cell structure and behavior, including for medical diagnostic purposes. Cell staining is a powerful tool for increasing understanding of the inner workings of a cell and the ways in which cells interact with one another.
