Cell Wound Assay
The cell wound assay is a laboratory technique used to evaluate a cell's response to a stressor. It provides insight into the cell's ability to contend with a wide range of stressful conditions, from physical damage to chemical insults. In addition to being used to measure the effect of drugs on cell motility, the cell wound assay is also employed to study wound healing, cellular apoptosis, cancer metastasis, and the effects of bacterial toxins on cell integrity. By allowing scientists to review the effects of a particular drug, environmental hazard, or other compound on cell motility and response, the cell wound assay is a valuable tool for research and development in the medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields.
