Microfilaments
Microfilaments are thin strands of fibrous proteins that are the major component of the cytoskeleton within cells. They are important for providing support and shape to the cell, as well as for cell division, motility and intracellular transport. Microfilaments have a wide range of uses in biological research, including in molecular and cell biology, to understand how cells interact with each other, and how they move, grow and divide. They also play a role in biomedical research, as they can be used to study the structure and function of tissues and organs. Furthermore, they are important in gene therapy, helping to deliver genes to the target cells and providing a way to control gene expression.
