Epidemiologic Surveillance

Epidemiologic Surveillance is an essential tool used to monitor the emergence, spread, and control of diseases in a population. It involves the systematic collection, analysis, and interpretation of health-related data to identify public health trends and inform public health action. Surveillance data can be used to identify potential new health threats, inform responses to infectious disease outbreaks, support vaccine and disease prevention programs, and monitor the effectiveness of public health interventions. Through epidemiologic surveillance, public health professionals can track changes in the health of a population over time, providing crucial insights into disease transmission, risk factors, and interventions that have been effective in the past.
