Acinetobacter
baumannii Acinetobacter baumannii is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium, commonly found in soil and water environments. It is becoming an increasingly important pathogen in human healthcare, as it is capable of causing serious infections in immunocompromised patients, especially in hospital and intensive care settings. Furthermore, Acinetobacter baumannii is becoming increasingly resistant to antibiotics, making it a major public health concern. Research into Acinetobacter baumannii is therefore crucial in the fight against deadly and untreatable bacterial infections.
