Campylobacteriosis
Campylobacteriosis is an infectious disease caused by Campylobacter bacteria. It is the leading cause of bacterial gastroenteritis worldwide, and it is most commonly spread by contaminated food and water. Symptoms of campylobacteriosis include fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. If left untreated, it can also cause complications such as bacteremia, reactive arthritis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome. In order to reduce the risk of infection, it is important to practice food safety measures such as washing hands, cooking foods thoroughly, and avoiding unpasteurized dairy products. Campylobacteriosis can be effectively treated with antibiotics, but most cases resolve on their own.
