Enterobacter Infections
Enterobacter infections are a group of bacterial illnesses caused by species of the Enterobacter genus, which is part of the family of bacteria known as Enterobacteriaceae. These bacteria are commonly found in the environment, and can be found in soils, water, plants and animals. Enterobacter infections can cause a wide range of illnesses, ranging from mild infections of the skin and respiratory tract to more serious and life-threatening conditions such as meningitis, septicemia and urinary tract infections. The most commonly used treatment for Enterobacter infections is antibiotics: the correct choice of antibiotics depends on the specific strain of Enterobacter causing the infection. Enterobacter infections can be very serious, and it is important to seek medical help if you suspect you have been infected. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can reduce the risk of serious and life-threatening illnesses.
