Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae. The most commonly reported symptom of gonorrhea is a burning sensation during urination, followed by a yellowish-green pus-like discharge from the penis or vagina. Gonorrhea can also cause pelvic inflammatory disease, which can lead to infertility in both men and women. If left untreated, it can spread to other parts of the body and cause serious health problems such as arthritis, heart valve infections, and meningitis. Treatment for gonorrhea is important, as it can help prevent serious health complications. Treatment usually consists of antibiotics and is most effective when taken as prescribed by a physician.
