Granulocytes
Granulocytes are a type of white blood cell that form a key part of the body's immune system. They are made in the bone marrow and are released into the bloodstream to help fight off infections. Granulocytes can detect and engulf bacteria, fungi, and other foreign invaders, releasing enzymes to destroy them and alerting other cells of their presence. Granulocytes are vital components of the body's defense against infection, and help protect us from disease.
