Hiv Epidemiology
HIV epidemiology is a research field focused on understanding the patterns, causes, and consequences of HIV infection, focusing on subpopulations, and informing health policies, programs, and interventions. HIV epidemiology seeks to identify high-risk population groups and how HIV is spreading within them, create strategies for HIV prevention and care, monitor HIV prevalence and trends, and inform public health decisions. HIV epidemiology helps us understand how to best prevent and treat HIV, and provide care and support to people living with HIV. The research and data gathered from HIV epidemiology plays a crucial role in improving HIV treatment and prevention initiatives, and reducing the burden of the disease.
