Hiv Vaccines
HIV vaccines are created to protect against infection by HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. HIV vaccines work by stimulating the body's immune system to recognize HIV and produce antibodies that block the virus from entering cells. This protection can help prevent HIV infection and may also reduce the severity of the disease. HIV vaccines are currently being studied for use as preventive vaccines as well as for treating people who are already infected. Clinical trials have shown that HIV vaccines can protect vaccinated individuals from infection and reduce the amount of virus present at the time of diagnosis. This means that HIV vaccines are an important tool for reducing the burden of HIV/AIDS worldwide.
