Otitis Media
Otitis media is an infection of the middle ear, the space behind the eardrum. It is a common condition, especially in young children, and is caused by bacteria or viruses. Symptoms may include ear pain, hearing loss, discharge from the ear, and fever. Treatment typically involves antibiotics and pain relief. If left untreated, otitis media can lead to long-term hearing problems, balance issues, and other complications. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for the prevention of serious long-term complications.
