Pyrimethamine

Pyrimethamine is an antimalarial and antiparasitic drug used to prevent and treat malaria and other parasitic infections such as toxoplasmosis. It works by blocking the production of folic acid, which the parasites need to replicate. It is also used in combination with other medicines to prevent and treat AIDS-related infections. Pyrimethamine is highly effective in treating and preventing malaria, and is an important tool in global efforts to eradicate the devastating effects of the disease. It has saved millions of lives, and is used in combination with other antimalarial drugs such as sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine.
