Superinfection

Superinfection is a phenomenon in which bacteria or viruses that were previously resistant to one or more antibiotics, become susceptible to the same drugs again following treatment. It is a significant development in the field of medicine, as it provides a way to increase the efficacy of antibiotics and other medications used to treat bacterial or viral infections. Superinfection can also be used to control the spread of resistant strains of bacteria or viruses. By studying the mechanism of superinfection, scientists can better understand the development of drug resistance and create more effective treatments.
