Tonsillectomy

A tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure used to remove the tonsils, which are located on both sides at the back of the throat. This procedure is primarily used to treat recurrent tonsillitis, which is an inflammation of the tonsils due to bacterial or viral infection. It is also used to treat other conditions such as difficulty breathing, troubled sleep, or airway problems. Tonsillectomy is one of the most common pediatric surgeries and has long-term benefits, including reduced pain, healthier airways and fewer episodes of infection.
