Neonatal Morbidity
Neonatal morbidity refers to the health problems and diseases that arise in the first month of a newborn’s life. It includes both preterm complications and diseases of the newborn that occur after birth. The main causes of neonatal morbidity are preterm birth, congenital abnormalities, and infections. Early diagnosis and prompt medical treatment can help diagnose and cure these conditions, preventing further morbidity or mortality. Neonatal morbidity can occur in both developed and developing countries and is an important measure for assessing the quality of care for newborns. It is also an important indicator for evaluating the health of infants and their families, healthcare systems, and societies.
