Occupational Stress
Occupational stress is an issue faced by many workers. It is a combination of physical, mental, and emotional strain caused by a hazardous working environment or difficult job demands. It can lead to physical and psychological ailments such as anxiety, depression, and even burnout. Poor work-life balance, job insecurity, and limited control over work tasks may also contribute to occupational stress. Consequently, it is important for workers and employers to work together to ensure a healthy working environment and reduce the risk of occupational stress and its associated negative effects. Employers can provide stress management training and techniques, flexible working arrangements, job rotation, and improved communication and supervision to address job-related stress. Economic measures such as a living wage, and safe and healthy working environments are also beneficial in reducing occupational stress.
