Proteomic Profiling
Proteomics is a term used to refer to the study of proteins and their functions in an organism. Proteomic profiling is the analysis of proteins within a sample to gain a better understanding of its structure and activity. This type of analysis is used to monitor changes in protein amounts, compare protein profiles between different organisms, study the effect of drugs on proteins, and diagnose diseases. Proteomic profiling is used in research to study the roles of proteins in various biological processes, as well as to identify biomarkers for disease. As a result of its vast applications, proteomics has become an important tool for understanding complex biology.
