Psycholinguistics
Psycholinguistics is the scientific study of the psychological and neurobiological processes involved in language production, comprehension, and acquisition. It is an interdisciplinary field, drawing from areas such as psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, and cognitive science. The core of psycholinguistic research focuses on understanding how people produce and comprehend language, including how people learn new language, how language development is related to cognitive development, and how language is used in different contexts. It is a growing field of study that has important implications for psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, education, and many other areas. Research in this field has the potential to improve our understanding of how language works, as well as improve language-related interventions and therapies.
