Hormonal Disorders
Hormonal disorders occur when the body’s hormones become imbalanced. Hormones are chemical messengers produced by glands throughout the body that regulate many functions. When hormones are thrown off balance, it can impact a person’s physical and mental health. Symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances can include changes in menstrual cycle, weight gain/loss, mood swings, infertility, acne, and fatigue. Treatment for hormonal disorders can include lifestyle changes, medications, or therapies such as hormone replacement therapy. It is important to get an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment in order to solve the underlying cause of the imbalance. Hormonal disorders can be managed, allowing people to live healthier and happier lives.
