Hydrocortisone
Hydrocortisone is a steroid hormone found naturally in the body, most commonly produced in the adrenal cortex of the adrenal gland. It is an important substance for the regulation of different bodily functions, mainly in the areas of metabolism and the immune system. In the medical world, hydrocortisone is used to treat inflammatory and allergic disorders, as well as certain skin conditions, such as psoriasis, eczema and other rashes. It can also be used to reduce swelling caused by trauma, to reduce side effects from cancer treatments and to help treat autoimmune, endocrine and rheumatoid disorders. Hydrocortisone has many uses and its importance to human health should not be underestimated.
