Maxillofacial Surgery
Maxillofacial surgery is a specialized branch of oral and facial surgery that focuses on the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders and injuries of the head, neck, face, jaws, and associated structures. This type of surgery can improve the appearance, symmetry, and function of the face and jaw structures. Common maxillofacial procedures include facial reconstructive surgery, jaw surgery, facial trauma repair, and cleft lip and cleft palate repair. Maxillofacial surgeons also treat issues such as impacted teeth, misaligned jaws and teeth, TMJ, sleep apnea, and salivary gland disease. Improved facial aesthetics and improved jaw function are two of the many benefits of maxillofacial surgery.
