Infertility
Infertility is a medical term for the inability of a couple to become pregnant after a year of trying. It is a serious reproductive issue that affects over 6 million people in the United States and millions more worldwide. Causes of infertility can be divided into two main categories – primary infertility, which is caused by a problem in either the male or female partner, and secondary infertility, which is caused by a combination of several factors. Treatment for infertility can involve lifestyle changes, medications, assisted reproductive technology such as in vitro fertilization, or even surgery. Proper diagnosis and treatment of infertility can help couples achieve their dream of becoming parents.
