Translational Cardiology

Translational cardiology is the use of cutting-edge methods to study the development, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. This approach takes results from research studies and utilizes them to develop new methods to identify and treat cardiology issues. By focusing on the problems patients are experiencing in the clinical setting, translational cardiology bridges the gap between basic research and clinical practice. By doing so, the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases can be improved and made more efficient. Translational cardiology can be used to develop personalized treatments, such as precision medicine, that are tailored to the individual needs of the patient. This is an important step towards improving the health and quality of life of people with cardiovascular diseases.
