Translational Oncology
Translational oncology is the research area dedicated to translating basic science discoveries into new treatments and technologies for cancer patients. This field focuses on understanding the molecular, cellular and genetic components of cancer and then translating this knowledge into treatments, therapies and diagnostics to improve cancer care. Translational oncology seeks to bridge the gap between clinical and basic research with the goal of quickly and effectively getting the latest advances in cancer research from the lab to the bedside. Translational oncology has significantly advanced cancer care by providing new insights into the biology of cancer and helping to develop new treatments and technologies for personalized cancer management.
