Editor Resources

As an editor, your responsibility is to uphold the standards for evaluating and approving manuscripts submitted to a scholarly journal. While seasoned scholars and researchers may already be familiar with these guidelines, they can be particularly beneficial for those who are new to editorial responsibilities.

Evaluation Guidelines:

We encourage providing an unbiased evaluation without hesitation and are open to making necessary revisions to achieve the desired quality. If a manuscript falls outside the journal's scope, we kindly request that it be declined without review.

Rejection Protocol:

If a submission is rejected, clear reason should be provided and guidance on necessary next steps be offered. For example, if the rejection is due to language or subject matter, we recommend suggesting editing or indicating that the topic is not within the journal's scope. Maintaining a high standard of language quality that is understandable to a global audience is crucial.

Ethical Obligations:

  • Editors must evaluate all manuscripts impartially, without considering the author's race, religion, nationality, gender, seniority, or institutional affiliation.
  • Editors have the sole responsibility for deciding whether to accept or reject submitted manuscripts.
  • Manuscripts deemed unsuitable for the journal may be declined without review.
  • The editor and editorial team must maintain confidentiality about the details of a manuscript under review.
  • Once a decision is made, the editor may reveal the titles of accepted manuscripts and the names of their authors.
  • Editors must prioritize the author's intellectual autonomy.
  • Any manuscript written by an editor and submitted to their journal should be reviewed by another qualified individual.
  • Editors must obtain permission from the author before using any unpublished information or interpretations revealed in a submitted manuscript for their personal research.
  • If a manuscript is closely related to an editor's research, creating a conflict of interest, another qualified individual should take on editorial responsibility.
  • If an editor receives convincing evidence that the main content or conclusions of a previously published report in their journal are incorrect, they must publish a suitable report acknowledging the error and, if possible, correcting it.
  • Authors may request the editor to refrain from utilizing specific reviewers during the evaluation process of a manuscript.
  • Editors should send manuscripts in PDF format to reviewers and request that comments not be made on the electronic copy of the manuscript.

These general and ethical guidelines are essential for achieving high-quality research paper outputs. If you require any further adjustments or additional information, please feel free to let me know!
