Neurotrauma
Neurotrauma is a type of damage or injury to the brain and/or spinal cord. It is one of the most common causes of physical disability and death worldwide. When a traumatic event occurs, such as a car accident, fall, or blast, it can cause significant disruption to the brain or spinal cord. Neurotrauma can cause a range of long-term outcomes, from coma and paralysis to cognitive impairment and psychological changes. Neurotrauma is a major public health issue, requiring immediate medical attention and rehabilitation. Early diagnosis, aggressive management, and rehabilitation are essential for optimal outcomes and the reintegration of patients into the community. Health professionals strive to lessen the physical, emotional and financial burden of neurotrauma, with the ultimate goal of restoring health and quality of life.
