Resuscitation
Resuscitation is a medical procedure used to restore life in an unconscious, unresponsive or clinically dead patient. It is done by performing chest compressions to circulate oxygen-rich blood through the body, often along with the administration of medications, IV fluids and/or breathing support such as an artificial breathing tube. Resuscitation can be used in cases of cardiac arrest, drowning, drug overdose and other medical emergencies. Resuscitation has saved countless lives and is an essential procedure for saving patients in medical emergencies.
