Toxicology

Toxicology is the scientific study of the adverse effects of chemical, physical, or biological agents on living organisms. It focuses on the adverse health effects of exposure to toxins, infectious agents, and other agents, as well as the interactions between agents and their environment. Toxicology seeks to understand the mechanisms of toxicity and develop ways to reduce or prevent the toxicity of agents in the environment. Toxicology can also investigate the potential health effects associated with natural disasters, such as floods, fires, and volcanic eruptions. Toxicology is an important field of study for understanding and managing the risks posed by chemicals and other agents to people's health and the environment. Toxicologists help to identify, assess, and control health risks by studying the behaviors and effects of the agents on living organisms.
