Traumatic Radiology
Traumatic radiology is a specialty of medical imaging that uses X-rays, computed tomography (CT), and other imaging techniques to diagnose and evaluate injuries caused by trauma, such as in car accidents. It provides invaluable information on the nature and extent of the injury, which is used to develop a treatment plan and improve patient outcomes. Traumatic radiology helps to detect early complications of trauma, such as infection and blood clots, as well as fractures and other soft tissue injuries. By enabling early diagnosis and treatment, it helps to reduce complications, reduce the risk of long-term disability, and improve patient outcomes. Most emergency departments use traumatic radiology as part of their standard care for trauma patients, as well as for monitoring healing in follow-up exams.
