Candidiasis

Candidiasis is a type of infection caused by the fungus Candida, which is a normal inhabitant of the human microbiome. It is the most common type of fungal infection encountered in humans and can occur in the mucous membranes or on the skin in various parts of the body. It can produce symptoms ranging from minor irritations to life-threatening systemic illnesses, depending on which organs the fungus infects. Candidiasis is treated with antifungal medications, such as Nystatin, Fluconazole, and Amphotericin B, depending on the severity of the infection. It is important to diagnose and treat candidiasis promptly, as it can cause significant damage to the organs it infects.
