Creatinine

Creatinine is a chemical waste molecule produced by muscle metabolism. It is usually present in the blood and can also be found in urine. Creatinine levels in the body are an important marker of kidney function, as healthy kidneys are able to filter creatinine from the bloodstream and excrete it in the urine. Measuring creatinine levels in the blood or urine is therefore essential for diagnosing and monitoring kidney diseases, as well as for assessing the effectiveness of treatments for kidney disease. Other medical conditions like diabetes, dehydration, and liver and heart diseases can also affect creatinine levels, so it is important to keep track of creatinine levels to get an overall picture of a person's health.
