Epidemiology

Epidemiology is the study of how diseases spread and how they can be prevented in a population. It is a key tool to understand and prevent health disparities among different social and economic groups. Epidemiologist use data collected from populations to better understand how patterns of disease spread and enable interventions to reduce its spread. Epidemiology can be used to assess how public health initiatives are working to reduce health inequalities. It can also be used to estimate the burden of disease and investigate the causes of disease in a population. Ultimately, epidemiology helps promote public health and reduce disease morbidity and mortality.
