Epididymitis

Epididymitis is a medical condition characterized by inflammation of the epididymis, a tube located at the back of the testicles. It is a common condition that is typically caused by bacterial infections, such as those resulting from sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea or chlamydia. Symptoms include pain and swelling in the scrotum, fever, and difficulty urinating. Treatment usually involves antibiotics and other medications given to reduce inflammation and pain, or to treat any underlying infection. If left untreated, epididymitis can lead to infertility or sterility. Early diagnosis and treatment are key in ensuring a positive outcome.
