Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is a sexually-transmitted bacterial infection, caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It is a major public health problem, as it can cause infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease, and ectopic pregnancy in women, and can also cause epididymitis and urethritis in men. The only way to protect against gonorrhea is to practice safe sex and get tested for the infection regularly. Early and accurate diagnosis and treatment of gonorrhea are key to preventing further transmission and the serious long-term effects of the disease.
