Rhabdomyosarcoma
Rhabdomyosarcoma is a form of cancer that affects soft tissue, such as skeletal muscle. It is most common in children and adolescents, but can occur at any age. It is the most common soft-tissue sarcoma in children, making up 3-4% of childhood cancers. Symptoms may include a lump or discomfort in the area of the tumor, such as the arms, legs, head, or neck. Treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma often includes surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Early detection is key to obtaining the best outcome. Early diagnosis and treatment may help improve the patient's prognosis and quality of life.
