Urinalysis

Urinalysis is a medical diagnostic test which examines a sample of urine to detect any abnormalities which may indicate a range of medical conditions. It is used to help identify and monitor kidney, liver and general health problems by detecting substances such as proteins, glucose, ketones, blood, bacteria and other metabolites. The results of a urinalysis can help diagnose a broad range of health issues including infections, kidney disease, diabetes, pre-eclampsia, and a variety of metabolic diseases. Urinalysis can also be used to monitor the effectiveness of therapies and treatments and to check for the presence of drugs, alcohol and other drugs of abuse.
