Consumer Health Informatics
Consumer Health Informatics is the study of how people access and use health information technology applications and services to help them make informed health-related decisions. It is a growing field that combines knowledge from computer science, information science, user experience, and health sciences to create technologies that provide increased access to health-related information and services. Consumer Health Informatics helps people be empowered to make health-related decisions for themselves and for their families. It has many applications, such as the development of patient decision support systems, health tracking and monitoring applications, interactive health-related websites, and other applications to empower consumers to take charge of their own health.
