Neuropsychology
Neuropsychology is the study of the brain and its relationship to behavior, cognition, and emotion. It is a field of psychology that examines how the structure and function of the brain, as well as other aspects of the nervous system, are related to psychological processes and behaviors. Neuropsychology is used to understand and diagnose potential mental health issues, as well as help develop interventions and treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of a patient. It has been used to help people with traumatic brain injuries, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, concussions, and other cognitive impairments learn to better manage their lives. By understanding how the brain works, neuropsychology can also help improve quality of life in areas such as learning and memory, language, and social skills.
