Non-euclidean Geometry
Non-Euclidean geometry is a type of geometry which deviates from the rules of Euclidean geometry. It is based on different postulates than those of Euclidean geometry, and as such, its theorems, lines, and shapes differ from those of Euclidean geometry. Non-Euclidean geometry is important in areas such as physics and cosmology which involve the concept of curved space and time. It is also used in mathematical models of biological systems, computer graphics and computer animation. It has an important role in the study of the structure of space-time and the curved universe theory. Its applications extend to the fields of genetics and probability, and to the study of the behavior of chaotic systems.
