Quantization
Quantization is the process of representing a continuous range of values as a set of discrete values. It is used to reduce the amount of data needed for storing and processing physical quantities, such as voltage, pressure, sound, etc. It is significant in a number of applications, including digital filters, audio processing, image processing, and artificial intelligence. In digital audio, for example, quantization is used to reduce the number of bits required to store a sound wave, while preserving the overall sound quality. By using quantization, data can be efficiently stored or transferred while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
