Excretion
Excretion is a process of removing waste materials and other by-products from the body. It involves the release of metabolites, metabolic waste, and toxins from an organism in the form of urine, faeces, sweat, carbon dioxide, and water. Excretion is essential for the regulation of pH level and sodium and potassium concentrations, helping the organism maintain homeostasis and preventing the build-up of toxic substances in the body. Excretion is also important for eliminating infectious micro-organisms in the body, helping to protect the organism from disease. Overall, excretion is vital for maintaining the health and well-being of organisms.
