Kidney Stone

A kidney stone is a hard, crystalline mineral material formed within the kidney or urinary tract. Kidney stones are a common and painful health problem. They can cause extreme pain and severe complications if left untreated. Treatment options include medication, surgery and changes to lifestyle and diet. The risk of developing kidney stones increases with age, obesity and certain medications or diets. Proper hydration, avoiding certain foods and following a healthy diet are all ways to reduce the risk of developing kidney stones.
