Renal Arteries
Renal arteries are the vessels that carry oxygen-rich and nutrient-rich blood to the kidneys. The kidneys remove waste and regulate the body’s pH and electrolyte balance. Renal arteries are vital to the proper functioning of the kidneys, and if they become blocked or narrowed due to a condition called renal arterial stenosis, kidney failure can occur. Treatment for this condition typically involves a combination of medications, lifestyle modifications, and, in severe cases, surgery. Identifying and addressing renal arterial stenosis is important for maintaining optimal kidney health and preventing kidney failure.
