Renal Impairement

Renal Impairment is the decreased function of the kidneys due to damage or disease. It affects the body’s ability to rid itself of toxins and waste products, and can result in dangerous levels of waste and fluid build-up in the blood. This can lead to a build-up of electrolytes and acid-base imbalances, as well as higher levels of potassium and calcium, which can cause further health problems, such as kidney stones, renal failure, and even death. Early diagnosis of renal impairment through blood tests, urine tests and imaging tests (such as a CT scan) can enable medical professionals to provide timely treatment and manage the disorder, which can reduce the risk of further complications. Treatment of renal impairment usually involves dialysis, medications, lifestyle changes, and possible kidney transplant. With proper medical treatment, patients with renal impairment can live a long and healthy life.
