Chemical Biology
Chemical biology is an interdisciplinary field of science that combines principles from chemistry and biology to study and understand the molecular functions of biological systems. It is used to evaluate the effects of small molecules, such as chemical compounds, on the behavior of cells. Chemical biology enables researchers to design specific therapies that target a particular cellular process, optimize drug delivery systems, and synthesize novel molecules for new drugs. The techniques used in chemical biology provide important insights into the fundamental mechanisms of cellular processes and can be used to identify novel therapeutic targets. The field of chemical biology is advancing rapidly and has opened up new avenues for the discovery of drugs, the design of better biological models, and the understanding of complex biological processes.
